Aviation Refueling Department

Aviation Refueling Department is a part of Yemen Petroleum Company (Y.P.C.) and is operating fuel supplying of JETA1 to customers at Aden International Airport since January 2009.

The management of Aden International Airport depot is responsible for ensuring the facilities designs and operations procedures to be followed by everyone on the site.

Aviation Refueling Departments of YPC is responsible at the airport depots to ensure that aviation fuel is safely received from the YPC installation through fueller and installed safely in our tanks at the fuelling depots and delivered to customers in accordance with the requirements and specifications in safer method.

Aviation safety

Aviation safety YPC Aviation department Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policy is to conduct all depot activities in a responsible manner that protects the environment and the health and safety of staffs and the visitors. This policy includes continuous improvement of performance, prevention of pollution and terrestrial environments and compliance with national environmental regulations and international standards. All security guidelines and procedures are tightly controlled and strict adherence is required by all staffs involved in the depot. While YPC aviation department implements the necessary security measures in order to protect its staffs and people, every effort is being made to minimize any impact on environment.

Quality Control

Quality Control Strict attention is paid to the fuel Quality Control, this requires at every stage between refinery & aircraft tanks. Fuel Quality is checked by sampling and laboratory analysis according to the (JIG) Standard as per latest issues of (AFQRJOS) to ensure that when fuel is delivered to the aircraft the fuel confirms to all the requirements specified for the grade. We are controlling all checks of Quality Control of YPC Jet A-1 fuel transportation trucks and YPC Installation tanks and facilities to ensure that the fuel delivered to the aircraft is in accordance with the highest Quality Control Standard.

The company has been contributing in supporting the national economy of nearly 70% of supplying the Yemeni market with all its requirements for the oil & gas products, it has been set up branches for the company in most governorates in the Republic to cover the requirements of these governorates for oil & gas products. YPC is gigantic company that has got many assets represented by transportation fleet, buildings, oil establishment and fuelling aircrafts at all airport in Yemen and its capital is estimated to an amount of (45 forty five billion riyals) YPC aviation department is growing and progressive aviation department with 30 staff members.


History

Aviation Refueling Dept. is a part of Yemen Petroleum Company – Aden Branch based at Aden International Airport in Aden. Yemen Petroleum Company is based in Yemen. The company has been contributing in supporting the national economy of nearly 70% of supplying the Yemeni market with all its requirements for the oil & gas products, it has been set up branches for the company in most governorates in the Republic to cover the requirements of these governorates for oil & gas products. YPC is gigantic company that has got many assets represented by transportation fleet, buildings, oil establishment and fuelling aircrafts at all airport in Yemen and its capital is estimated to an amount of (45 forty five billion riyals) Air BP Aden was operating fuel facility of (Jet A-1 into aircrafts) at Aden International Airport since 1980 and due to significant changes in Air BP's business in Aden, Air BP Aden exited their concession agreement with Yemen Petroleum Company effective 1st January 2009, and whereas Air BP continued to provide technical support until 2010. YPC Aviation Fuelling Department took over the business from Air BP Aden with its assets & employees who have long term experience (Nearly 14 years) in the fuelling field and who continue to run the fuelling in accordance with Air BP Standard. YPC Aviation Fuelling Department has continued to abide Air BP’s obligations to its employees to ensure that work site & the equipment and facilities are in accordance with HSSE expectation & policies.

Aviation Logistics

Credit Customers to sign a Refueling Agreement with Yemen Petroleum Co., - Sana’a and the Method of Payment for Credit Facilities differs from one customer to other. Aviation Fuelling Department Aden will raise an invoice Attached to the Aviation Delivery Certificate for quantities Drawn by the customer to YPC Head Office Sana’a for payments. Cash Customers payment is made by the Customer upon arrival at Aden Int’l Airport. Guarantee Customers will sign a Refueling Agreement with Yemen Petroleum Co., (Aden Branch) giving YPC bank bond from an authorized bank in the Republic of Yemen for not less than ($ 50,000/-) Fifty Thousand US Dollars, renewed prior to its expiry as long as the Contract remains valid.

Training System

YPC Aviation Fuelling Department will ensure that all staff are thoroughly trained in each & every operational task that they are required to perform as part of their routine daily duties. It is the staff’s responsibility to perform tasks fully and in accordance with their training. Taking into account the HSSE advices given to them during the training. The operation function includes staff with responsibilities for Issues (e.g. Training & Quality issues)

Maintenance/Spare parts

Maintenance for all the equipment’s is carried out on spot through specific maintenance schedule to keep them in order to accordance with the standard and quality requirements. Maintenance team is responsible to repair if any defective equipment arises in the depot. Our spare parts are purchased through the following companies:
